The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) is delighted to announce that recent discussions have been held with the prospect of re-establishing the Independent Chelsea Disabled Supporters’ Association.

CST representatives, Cliff Auger & Diane Akers, have been working closely with Chelsea FC and Level Playing Field and can today (5 October) announce that a preliminary open meeting will be held for anyone with an interest.

Independent Chelsea Disabled Supporters’ Association Preliminary Meeting

Date :  Saturday 28th October 2023

Time : 15:00 [after CFC v Brentford]

Place : Tea Bar next to Ticket Office

All disabled supporters, carers, friends, family, or anyone with an interest is welcome to join this open meeting.

We are really encouraged by the developments being made and are excited to see the association back once again. Our aim is to amplify the voices of disabled supporters and work towards building stronger relationships and more effective communication between supporters and Chelsea FC. We will also educate and raise awareness amongst the wider Chelsea FC support base.

The CST has been working closely with Chelsea FC regarding access and we were recently invited to an ‘access tour’ around Stamford Bridge. There are already some excellent accessible areas in the stadium, and it is fantastic that Chelsea FC has already created the sensory room in the East Stand Lower and a fully accessible W/C in the same stand.

During the tour, the Trust identified a number of sites that could be upgraded to enable better disability access. We are pleased that work is in progress on a number of these projects.

As part of our ongoing work to reinstate the Chelsea DSA, the CST and Chelsea FC were invited to sit in on a Fulham DSA meeting. This very informative activity has helped us lay the foundations for our own DSA and we are grateful for the support and guidance.

We look forward to seeing many supporters on the 28th. CST, Chelsea FC, and Level Playing Field representatives will be in attendance. If you have any further questions, please email: [email protected]
