Dear CST members,
I wanted to inform you that following the election and creation of a CST Board, and after a decade in post, I will be stepping down from the position of CST Secretary. My decision is primarily work related in that I can no longer commit the time required to the CST, particularly after a period as intense as the last few months have been.
It has been quite a journey – from the initial inception of the Trust, the first public meetings and designing the CST’s constitution and policies with the help of Supporters Direct in 2012, creating the CST’s election policy (and administering ten board elections!), to most recently leading on strategy and negotiations with prospective new owners of Chelsea FC. The Board will shortly be issuing a document detailing all of the work that was put in by the CST between March and June this year, and I have absolute trust that the new Board will maintain the energy needed to secure hard-fought improvements in supporter representation from Chelsea FC’s new ownership team.
My successor has not yet been confirmed, and I would welcome a conversation with any member who has legal, administrative or public policy experience and is interested in volunteering for the role. I can be contacted at [email protected].
I wanted to thank everyone who has been involved in the CST over the last decade, in particular Tim Rolls, David Chidgey, and Cliff Auger, who have each served a 3 year stint as Chair, Stuart Kinner our ever-reliable Treasurer, and Paul Hay for his dedicated membership and administrative work, and I have informed the Board I will remain available to advise on an informal basis, and I will still be in my usual haunts in SW6 come matchdays!
All the best,
Paul
