Prostate cancer testing at Stamford Bridge

Read Time:1 Minute, 1 Second

A mobile prostate cancer testing unit is currently located at Stamford Bridge and is open to everyone.

The unit, known as the ‘Man Van’, offers free health checks in a private and relaxed environment, including PSA tests – a blood test which helps to detect prostate cancer – where appropriate.

Appointments can be booked here.

This excellent initiative has been provided by The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with The Institute of Cancer Research, and The Chelsea FC Foundation.

According to Prostate Cancer UK, about 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

The causes remain unknown, but there are three main prostate cancer risk factors:

Prostate Cancer UK advises those who have any of these risk factors or have any symptoms, to speak to their GP.

GPs can talk to you about your risk, and about the tests that are used to diagnose prostate cancer. You can also get in touch with  Specialist Nurses, who can help you understand your risk of prostate cancer.

The unit is located close to Stamford Gate and is open until Sunday, July 28th.
